Career Highlights
- Thabani joined the group in 2004 as a risk analyst, and became the Credit Risk Manager for new card business in 2007.
- Between 2009 and 2016, Thabani held several roles within Personal and Business Banking, including Head of collections strategy, inclusive banking, unsecured lending and retail banking.
- In 2016, he was appointed as Head, Personal and Business Banking (SA) Credit, until 2021 when he was made Chief Risk Officer of Personal and Business Banking, and in 2022, the Chief Risk Officer of SBSA.
- In October 2025, in addition to his SBSA role, he was appointed as Chief Risk Officer of SBG.
